It’s World Cup time and soon there will be a lot of cricket frenzy.
I have been watching from my gym window a father-son cricket practice session in the adjacent compound. The boy is about six but very enthusiastic. They use near real stumps with own stand and real bat. Of course the ball has to be tennis ball and it’s one a side till some boys join in.
Perhaps somethings are missing. The busy father is taking time to spend with the son. He is in something like a pajama with a hood which hangs behind the head. They are very devoted and has no issues in running after the ball which goes in all directions.
The boy is in pants and shirt, more like an after school attire.
There’s passion and it’s the right way to introduce the youngster to the game.
Is there something more to the introduction? I think yes…
How about the father dressed in white like a test player? And for that matter, the boy!
And how about leg pads and batting gloves?
Just a thought. It could a great way to introduce the youngster to the game.
Kudos to the father for taking the time!
