A large worldwide study has found out that, contrary to popular thought, low salt diets may not be beneficial and may actually increase the risk of cardiovascular disease!!
The study however suggests that those who having hypertension and have habits of high salt consumption should still worry.
So for most of health stories have two sides to it and we are in the middle.
For example statin now is a villain and cholesterol need not be bad at all.
There are of course some good news in all of these. The ingredients for heart medicine have been found to aid men to excel in love games and viagra was born.
But the way we should go for is to get closer to nature. Everything else including medicines are suspect.
The salt story has other side effects also. At least for we malayalees, salt is synonymous with obligation. It’s said ‘uppu thinna nandi’- the thankfulness or obligation you are supposed to have when you have eaten food with salt given to you.
Perhaps some of the betrayals can be written off as result of the salt reduced food (or help or kindness) you have shown. So don’t feel sad, it’s the low salt which is responsible.
When you feel you’re shut out in spite of all you give unconditionally ‘blame it on the salt’……
