Sometimes the seemingly obvious is not that obvious……

We’ll probably believe that full tank gas is risky, particularly in hot weather. In fact there’s a whatsapp awareness item going around in Kerala, cautioning motorists against full tank in these unusually hot summer.

A friend of mine forwarded a video which I watched just now and it’s quite stunningly disbelieving.

The video is from National Geographic. And hence should be authentic, unless someone used some skills to alter it. That’s my disclaimer.

The video is of an experiment with four cars. One is full tank gas, second half tank, another quarter tank and the fourth empty.

All are connected with remote electronic controls triggering spark in the tank when connected.

First experiment is on the car with full tank gas. Switch for spark applied several times but nothing happened.

Second on the half tank one. And there is a subdued explosion and fire.

Third on the quarter tank. Explosion and fire significant this time

And finally the empty tank one. Wallah, it’s like a powerful bomb.

Wow……

Anyone interested in video, let me know
