The Holy Week has just passed. I am not very religious and certainly don’t like the habit of many of going to church on special times like Christmas and Holy Week comprising of Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter. They may be right and I am wrong, but I don’t fancy overflowing church halls for all services. Maybe I am wrong.
But I have a connection with Holy Week, I was born on a Holy Saturday. I usually avoid cynical or funny comments on religion, but used to say that there was no God when I was born. (Jesus died on Good Friday and rose again on Easter Sunday).
Incidentally this Holy Saturday also coincided with my birthday.
The festival Vishu also coincided with Good Friday. Last year’s Vishu celebrations were memorable. But this year there was no such celebration, and it falling on Good Friday is not exactly the reason. I must then say that things are different from last year.
Some changes are inevitable, some can be restored and certain others permanent.
Don’t know what……
