The Flower and the Noble Objective……Reproduction.

I have, of late been vocal on the virtues of Instagram……

I don’t know about you guys, but this is where I meet great talents. Talents of various kinds, like artists, photographers, travellers and even those most beautiful and sexy, physically.

Interesting thing however is that, the closest of them are unknown,  ie I don’t know who they are, what they do or where they live.

But they’re there and I can communicate with them, tell them of my adoration and love and mostly get reciprocated.

One of the top in this segment is a brilliant artist. She can put Van Gouh out with just what she does on her thumb. And she’s most expressive when she draws her and him in their private movements.

And she loves nature. Her photographs of flowers are probably the best I have seen.

Of late I have started noticing something… her flowers have pollen very erect. Yes they are ready to perform their primary duty…… reproduction.

That’s when I realised, the colour and show of the flowers is not for me to admire, but their way of inviting the mate.

That’s sexy and like any such feelings, there’s bound to be competition.

Here there’s the bee, elegant and systematic and vand (beetle) mostly ugly and noisy.

Come on, that’s not a fair assessment. Vand, sarcastically called karivand (black beetle) in Malayalam is my favourite over the bee which can sting.

I am not saying this because I am the karivand of the siblings of 10, but being dark horse for example has own advantages.

But look at the bee, it befriends the flower, perform the act of pollination, satisfy the flower. But he’s not that sincere. The hidden agenda of the bee is to steal the honey from the flower and take it to his queen. That’s tantamount to being unfaithful.

On the other hand, the vand is sincere and perform the act of pollination to the full satisfaction of the flower. Listen carefully, the vand sings to the flower, raising the intensity and pleasure in the pollination. The flower gets what it looks for and feels fulfilled. The flower is okay for the vand to consume her, but the buzzing lover just expresses love.

And then the flower let’s out the orgasamic shriek “yyaaah you are blue”

And look closely…… the vand on the flower is blue.

(Dedicated to my talented and unknown instagram friend, who excites me everyday with her awesome works)……

  1. “It is the pleasure of the bee to gather honey of the flower, but is also the pleasure of the flower to yield its honey to the bee. For to the bee, the flower is a fountain of love; and to the flower, the bee is a messenger of love. And to both flower and bee, the giving and receiving of pleasure is a need and an ecstasy.” Khalil Gibran .

    1. Wonderful one by Khalil Gibran.
My point is that the bee is unfaithful in taking the honey for his queen and family. However the vand has no hidden agenda. Also the humming of the vand is true reflection of the love and pleasure.
It can be compared to that of a hummingbird. But then all flowers are not fortunate to get the hummingbird to pollinate and become the lover. It’s like the poor girl dreaming of her Prince Charming

  2. Sometimes a single word or an appreciating gesture makes people do things even in the darkest days. Kindness comes from the heart even sometimes you won’t get it in return. But people with kind hearts are truly inspiring 🙂
