I did make a statement here, sometime back that poetry comes from the heart and a story you can write using imagination.
Poetry, of course, comes from the heart, but a story is not actually independent. You can write story of another person or groups and use some fictional imagination. But when you write about what you know of yourself, it’s difficult to follow anything else but heart.
Talented writers may be able to create stories. The reason I am writing this to suggest that new/ beginners like me have to realise that some clever thinking will be required to give the things you have done a fictional twist.
The issue is when you write about your relationships with others, and the logic suggests that you better keep secrets of others intact.
It’s a challenge more than a dilemma.
All fiction is a little autobiographical, but it is a good way to disguise actual people.
