I had reviewed “Still Loved…..Still Missing” by Mridula N and I was happy to see this Malayalam language book of short stories by her on the kindle edition.
I am glad that I found the book. It actually proves a few things. For one, a book need not be big. Small is still beautiful.
It’s short, all of 40 pages comprising of 12 sweet and extra short stories. Each one tells a story in real style. What’s important to note is that, though they are short ones, each story makes us to pause and think.
For another, this book would encourage people who have something short to tell, to write and make it a book.
And that a collection of short stories can tell different things, while at the same time binding them together with the author’s personality.
Characters in the stories vary and are interesting. Like the guy who was ashamed that the dress he purchased was removed from the mannequin. Then the fat furry tailed yellow cat who moves only for food and watched others chasing a pigeon straying into the room. Then the news collector cat ‘Charulatha’ whose late return reminded madam of her husband and who’s the actual title holder.
Mridula has managed to do all these in this lovely collection of short stories.
I recommend those who can read Malayalam to get the book and read.
